Matthew is a member of the Estate Planning Bar Association and represents individuals in both simple and complex estate plans.
Matthew is a member of the Agricultural Section of the Michigan Bar Association and represents both large and small farms.
Meet The Team
Matt has practiced law in mid-Michigan since 1999. He has experience in transactional law, litigation, property, estate planning and agricultural law. Matt has established and advised numerous corporations and companies throughout Michigan. He has received a certificate of completion from the Probate and Estate Planning Certificate Program of the State Bar of Michigan and the institution of Continuing Legal Education in 2005.
Matt is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and Isabella Bar Association. He has served on various boards for educational, health, business and religious organizations.
Matt received his Juris Doctor Degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, Magna Cum Laude where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review while attending. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ferris State University, with distinction.
Matt is an active community member with various charitable organizations. He enjoys cycling, camping, skiing and spending time with his family.
Julie is an experienced Paralegal and has worked in the legal field in various capacities since 2002. She was Matt’s full-time assistant for 6-1/2 years. She currently works for him part-time. Her experience includes the areas of real estate, estate planning, probate, corporate law, and criminal prosecution. She also researches various issues as needed.
Julie has been a member of NALS, the association for legal professionals since 2004, and became a certified Professional Paralegal in 2012. She has been a member of the Paralegal/Legal Assistant Section of the State Bar of Michigan since 2011. Julie was licensed by the State of Michigan as a Resident Producer for title insurance in 2002. She also holds an Associate in Applied Science (secretarial/legal) and a Bachelor of Applied Arts (journalism/public relations).
Samantha has been working in law offices since 2012. In 2017 she began working exclusively for Matt. She provides a variety of services including the preparation, review, and execution of documents as well as coordination of office services. Samantha is a notary public with the state of Michigan and is currently pursuing a PhD.
Patti is a retired administrative assistant of the Superintendent of school and has many years of experience and skills in office management. She is great at working with people and strives to make the office a great atmosphere. Patti is a notary public with the state of Michigan.
Shelby has been working for Matt since 2015 in a variety of roles. She has experience in event planning, marketing, and accounting. Shelby currently provides the law firm with billing services and office needs. Shelby is a notary public with the state of Michigan and is currently working on her Bachelor of Business Administration.
